# Arthur Rudd

**Art Rudd** (October 22, 1890 – April 14, 1968) was an American [soccer](/source/Soccer) [defender](/source/Defender_(football)) who earned two [caps](/source/Cap_(sports)) with the [U.S. national team](/source/United_States_men's_national_soccer_team), including one at the [1924 Summer Olympics](/source/1924_Summer_Olympics).[2]

## National team

Rudd's first [caps](/source/Cap_(sports)) came at the [1924 Summer Olympics](/source/Football_at_the_1924_Summer_Olympics) when he played in the U.S. first round win over [Estonia](/source/Estonia_national_football_team). Following its elimination from the Olympics, the U.S. played two exhibition games. Rudd played in the second, a 3–1 loss to [Ireland](/source/Ireland_national_football_team_(IFA)).[3]

## Professional

Rudd also spent two seasons in the [American Soccer League](/source/American_Soccer_League_(1921-1933)). He played eighteen games with [Fleisher Yarn](/source/Fleisher_Yarn) in 1924-1925 and another nineteen games with [Philadelphia Field Club](/source/Philadelphia_Field_Club) during the 1925–1926 season.[4]
