== Life ==
He was born in [Mildura](/source/Mildura%2C_Victoria) and was a fruit grower in the district before entering politics. He served on the [Mildura City Council](/source/City_of_Mildura) from 1945 to 1969 and was mayor twice between 1949 and 1951.<ref name=arch>{{webarchive |url=https://web.archive.org/web/20120516024703/http://www.parliament.vic.gov.au/re-member/bioregfull.cfm?mid=1312 |title=Mansell, Arthur Robert |date=16 May 2012}}</ref>

A [Country Party](/source/National_Party_of_Australia_%E2%80%93_Victoria) member, he was elected to the [Victorian Legislative Council](/source/Victorian_Legislative_Council) in 1952 for [North Western Province](/source/North_Western_Province_(Victoria)).<ref name=parl>{{Cite Parliament of Victoria Member Profile |name=Arthur Robert Mansell |id=arthur-mansell |access-date=11 August 2025}}</ref> From 1969 to 1973 he was Deputy Leader of the Country Party in the upper house. Mansell retired from politics in 1973, in which year he was appointed a [Commander of the Order of the British Empire](/source/Commander_of_the_Order_of_the_British_Empire).<ref name=parl/> He married Dorothy Mable Davies,<ref name=arch/> with whom he had four children. Mansell died in 1990.<ref name=parl/>
