# Arthur Magennis

**Arthur Magennis** was an [Irish](/source/Ireland) [bishop](/source/Bishop) in the sixteenth century:[1] he was appointed [Bishop of Dromore](/source/Bishop_of_Dromore) by [the Pope](/source/Pope_Julius_III)[2] in 1550.[3] This was confirmed later that year by [Edward VI](/source/Edward_VI).[4]
