# Arthur Fitton

**George Arthur Fitton** (30 May 1902 – 10 September 1984) was an English [footballer](/source/Association_football) and [cricketer](/source/Cricket). His regular position was as a [forward](/source/Forward_(association_football)). He was born in [Melton Mowbray](/source/Melton_Mowbray), [Leicestershire](/source/Leicestershire). He played for [West Bromwich Albion](/source/West_Bromwich_Albion_F.C.), [Preston North End](/source/Preston_North_End_F.C.), and [Manchester United](/source/Manchester_United_F.C.).

He also played [cricket](/source/Cricket) for [Staffordshire](/source/Staffordshire_County_Cricket_Club) in the [Minor Counties Championship](/source/Minor_Counties_Championship), where as a left-handed [batsman](/source/Batsman_(cricket)) and occasional [wicket-keeper](/source/Wicket-keeper), he played from 1927 to 1934, making 25 appearances.[1]
