It is situated approximately {{Convert|3|mi|km|0}} north of the [market town](/source/market_town) of [Beverley](/source/Beverley) and {{Convert|1.5|mi|km}} east of [Leconfield](/source/Leconfield).

It forms part of the [civil parish](/source/civil_parishes_in_England) of [Leconfield](/source/Leconfield).

The main features are a small [railway station](/source/Arram_railway_station) on the [Yorkshire Coast Line](/source/Yorkshire_Coast_Line), proximity to [RAF Leconfield](/source/RAF_Leconfield) and a [red phonebox](/source/Red_telephone_box).

The village has a fishing venue on the tidal [River Hull](/source/River_Hull).

The road from Leconfield is one continuous corner due to being moved in the 1970s to accommodate the lengthening of the runway for [Vulcan Bombers](/source/Avro_Vulcan).
