Born in [Tel Aviv](/source/Tel_Aviv) in 1952, Arnon Avron studied mathematics at [Tel Aviv University](/source/Tel_Aviv_University) and the [Hebrew University of Jerusalem](/source/Hebrew_University_of_Jerusalem), receiving a Ph.D. ''[magna cum laude](/source/magna_cum_laude)'' from Tel Aviv University in 1985.
