# Arloff

**Arloff** is a village in the borough of [Bad Münstereifel](/source/Bad_M%C3%BCnstereifel) in the district of [Euskirchen](/source/Kreis_Euskirchen) in the German state of [North Rhine-Westphalia](/source/North_Rhine-Westphalia).

[Arloff Castle](/source/Arloff_Castle) is a well preserved fortified building from the [early Gothic](/source/Early_Gothic) period.

## Location

Arloff lies in the [Voreifel](/source/Voreifel) between [Euskirchen](/source/Euskirchen) and the old town of Bad Münstereifel on the boundary between the [Zülpich Börde](/source/Z%C3%BClpich_B%C3%B6rde) lowlands and the [Eifel](/source/Eifel) mountains.

The river [Erft](/source/Erft) flows through the village. The Erft and the *[Landesstraße](/source/Landesstra%C3%9Fe)* 194 are crossed by local roads that run along the edge of the Eifel. The urban area of Arloff and the village to the north, [Kirspenich](/source/Kirspenich), merge here in the wide valley of the Erft.

## Archeology

A [Roman](/source/Ancient_Rome) [icosahedron](/source/Icosahedron) was found near Arloff. It was at first misclassified as a [dodecahedron](/source/Roman_dodecahedron). It is on display in the [Rheinisches Landesmuseum](/source/Rheinisches_Landesmuseum_Bonn).
