==Life and career==
Setzer is a native of [Dayton, Ohio](/source/Dayton%2C_Ohio) and graduated from the [University of Dayton](/source/University_of_Dayton) with a [Bachelor of Science](/source/Bachelor_of_Science) degree in [business administration](/source/business_administration) and from [Wright State University](/source/Wright_State_University) with a [Master of Education](/source/Master_of_Education) degree.  She has taught in the [Vandalia, Ohio](/source/Vandalia%2C_Ohio) school system since 1967.  She also worked at [Wright State University](/source/Wright_State_University) as a professor.

In 1982, Setzer ran for [Vandalia City Council](/source/Vandalia%2C_Ohio), and won her first term. ==Ohio House of Representatives==
When Representative [Jeff Jacobson](/source/Jeff_Jacobson_(Ohio)) ran for the [Ohio Senate](/source/Ohio_Senate) in 2000, Setzer ran to replace him, and won the seat with 55.3% of the vote. Throughout her time in the legislature, Setzer served as Chairwoman of the Education Committee, a prominent position dealing with a plethora of issues.

[Term limits](/source/Term_limits) required Setzer to relinquish her seat in 2008, and she was replaced by [Seth Morgan](/source/Seth_Morgan_(politician)).  However, in 2011 Setzer ran for mayor of [Vandalia, Ohio](/source/Vandalia%2C_Ohio) and was unopposed.
