**Ariyallur** is a census town in [Malappuram district](/source/Malappuram_district) in the state of [Kerala](/source/Kerala), India.[1] It is situated in [Vallikkunnu](/source/Vallikkunnu) Gramapanchayath and newly formed [Vallikkunnu Legislative Assembly constituency](/source/Vallikkunnu_Legislative_Assembly_constituency).[2]

## Demographics

As of 2011[\[update\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ariyallur&action=edit) India [census](/source/Census), Ariyallur had a population of 22558 with 10,826 males and 11,732 females.[3][1] Hindus form the majority.

## Transportation

The nearest airport is at [Karipur Airport](/source/Karipur_Airport). The nearest major railway station is at [Vallikkunnu](/source/Vallikkunnu).

## Places of interest

Ariyallur is home to Vallikkunnu Railway Station. [M V Higher Secondary](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=M_V_Higher_Secondary_School&action=edit&redlink=1) School and G U P School are important schools. Ariyallur is also famous for agricultural nurseries. It has a coast of about 4 Kilometers. Muthiyam Turtle Sanctuary is on this coast.
