# Arianne Cope

**Arianne B. Cope** is an American [Latter-day Saint](/source/Latter-day_Saint) novelist.

Cope has written many articles for such [LDS Church](/source/The_Church_of_Jesus_Christ_of_Latter-day_Saints) publications as the *[New Era](/source/New_Era_(magazine))*.[1]

Cope has been a recipient of the [Marilyn Brown Novel Award](/source/Marilyn_Brown_Novel_Award) from the [Association for Mormon Letters](/source/Association_for_Mormon_Letters) for her novel *[The Coming of Elijah](/source/The_Coming_of_Elijah)*. This novel has been criticized for its portrayal of the LDS Church's [Indian Placement Program](/source/Indian_Placement_Program).[2]

Cope has also been the editor of the *Tremonton Ledger*, a newspaper published in [Tremonton, Utah](/source/Tremonton,_Utah).
