'''Ariaca''' ({{langx|grc|Ἀριακὴ or Ἀριακὴ Σαδινῶν}}) was a region of Western India beyond [Barigaza](/source/Barigaza), mentioned in ancient geographical sources, usually associated with the [Western Satraps](/source/Western_Satraps).

According to the [Periplus of the Erythraean Sea](/source/Periplus_of_the_Erythraean_Sea), Ariaca was part of the kingdom of ''Nambanus'', thought to be the [Western Satrap](/source/Western_Satrap) ruler [Nahapana](/source/Nahapana):<ref>"History of the Andhras", Durga Prasad [https://web.archive.org/web/20060422120411/http://202.41.85.234:8000/gw_44_5/hi-res/hcu_images/G2.pdf Source]</ref>

{{quote|41. "Beyond the [gulf of Baraca](/source/Gulf_of_Kutch) is that of [Barygaza](/source/Bharuch) and the coast of the country of Ariaca, which is the beginning of the Kingdom of [Nambanus](/source/Nahapana) and of all India. That part of it lying inland and adjoining Scythia is called [Abiria](/source/Abiria), but the coast is called [Syrastrene](/source/Syrastrene). It is a fertile country, yielding wheat and rice and sesame oil and clarified butter, cotton and the Indian cloths made therefrom, of the coarser sorts. Very many cattle are pastured there, and the men are of great stature and black in color. The metropolis of this country is [Minnagara](/source/Minnagara), from which much cotton cloth is brought down to Barygaza."|Periplus of the Erythraean Sea, Chap. 41 <ref>[http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/ancient/periplus.html Source]</ref>}}

[Ptolemy](/source/Ptolemy) further describes Ariaca as being composed of the cities of Suppara ([Sopara](/source/Sopara)), Dunga, Symilla emporium ([Chaul](/source/Chaul)), Balepatna, Hippocura (the seat of the palace of a king, whom Ptolemy calls Baleocarus), ending before the city of Mandagora.<ref>Ptolemy, Geographia, Book 7</ref>
