# Archibald Sim

**Archibald Millar Robertson Sim** (8 January 1942 – 30 March 2023)[1] was a [South African](/source/South_African_people) [cricketer](/source/Cricket). Sim was a right-handed [batsman](/source/Batsman_(cricket)) who bowled right-arm [medium pace](/source/Seam_bowling). He was born at [Johannesburg](/source/Johannesburg), [Transvaal Province](/source/Transvaal_Province).

Sim made his [first-class](/source/First-class_cricket) debut for [North Eastern Transvaal](/source/North_Eastern_Transvaal_cricket_team) against [Rhodesia](/source/Rhodesia_cricket_team) in the 1962/63 [Currie Cup](/source/Currie_Cup). He made two further appearances in that season's competition, against [Border](/source/Border_cricket_team) and Rhodesia.[2] In his three appearances, he scored 45 runs at an [average](/source/Batting_average_(cricket)) of 9.00, with a high score of 17.[3] He played [county cricket](/source/County_cricket) for [Northamptonshire](/source/Northamptonshire_County_Cricket_Club) in 1964, making his first-class debut for the county against [Cambridge University](/source/Cambridge_University_Cricket_Club). He made a further appearance in 1965 against [Oxford University](/source/Oxford_University_Cricket_Club), before making two further appearances in 1966 against Oxford University and [Nottinghamshire](/source/Nottinghamshire_County_Cricket_Club).[2] In his four first-class appearances for Northamptonshire, he scored 151 runs at an average of 25.16, with a high score of 66 [not out](/source/Not_out),[3] which came against Oxford University in 1965.[4]
