## History

Arbor may be named from [Arbor Lodge](/source/Arbor_Lodge_State_Historical_Park_and_Arboretum), the estate of [Julius Sterling Morton](/source/Julius_Sterling_Morton), the 3rd [United States Secretary of Agriculture](/source/United_States_Secretary_of_Agriculture).[2] However, another source speculates that Arbor was likely named for the trees lining the town site.[3] Arbor had a [post office](/source/Post_office) from 1894 until 1900.[4]
