The **Aragonese Party** ([Spanish](/source/Spanish_language): *Partido Aragonés*, PAR) is a [political party](/source/Political_party) which advocates the interests of [Aragon](/source/Aragon) within [Spain](/source/Spain). The party was founded in 1978 under the name **Aragonese Regionalist Party**, but changed its name in 1990, keeping the initials *PAR*. The founders of PAR included [Emilio Eiroa](/source/Emilio_Eiroa), who later served as the [President of the Government of Aragon](/source/President_of_the_Government_of_Aragon) from 1991 to 1993.[4]

PAR had representation in the [European Parliament](/source/European_Parliament) between 1999 and 2004, where it sat in the [European Coalition](/source/European_Coalition) group.
