The '''Apreece baronetcy''', of [Washingley](/source/Washingley) in the [County of Huntingdon](/source/County_of_Huntingdon), was a title in the [Baronetage of Great Britain](/source/Baronetage_of_Great_Britain). It was created on 12 July 1782 for Thomas Apreece.<ref>{{London Gazette |issue=12301 |date=4 June 1782 |page=1}}</ref> Apreece was recognised for his role as commander of the [Huntingdonshire Militia](/source/Huntingdonshire_Militia) coastal defence force in 1779, during the [American Revolutionary War](/source/American_Revolutionary_War), defending [Alnwick](/source/Alnwick) from an attack by the flotilla led by [John Paul Jones](/source/John_Paul_Jones) in the [USS ''Bonhomme Richard''](/source/USS_Bonhomme_Richard_(1765)) as he sailed south.<ref name="Cokayne">{{cite book |last1=Cokayne |first1=George Edward |title=Complete Baronetage |date=1906 |publisher=W.
