Harding first appeared on stage in 1997 at the intimate [12 Bar Club](/source/12_Bar_Club) in London supporting 'London's best unsigned band'[Time Out] [Rhatigan](/source/Rhatigan) on a monthly residency.[Ant's official Myspace page] In the year 2000, Antony's first CD, ''[Cures For Broken Hearts](/source/Cures_For_Broken_Hearts),'' came out on Fortune & Glory Records (UK) to positive reviews: "Likeable delicate stuff" said [Q Magazine](/source/Q_Magazine),[Q Magazine review 2000] "An unexpected Joy", said [Mojo](/source/Mojo_(magazine)).[Mojo magazine review 2000] The CD received airplay on [BBC Radio One](/source/BBC_Radio_One), leading to a solo session for [John Peel](/source/John_Peel)[John Peel Wiki] in the summer of that year, featuring four acoustic versions of songs that would later appear on his debut album.[Ant's official website] The debut album, a collection of London home recordings called ''[A Long Way To Blow A Kiss](/source/A_Long_Way_To_Blow_A_Kiss)'', was quietly released in 2002 on Fortune and Glory Records.
