# Anthony Derricks

**Anthony Derricks** (born December 17, 1976) is an American former professional [football](/source/American_football) [defensive specialist](/source/Defensive_specialist)/[kickoff returner](/source/Kickoff_returner) who played in the [Arena Football League](/source/Arena_Football_League). He holds Arena football records for kickoff returns in a game (11), return yards in a game (336) and touchdowns on returns in a game (4).[2] His 25.1 average per return on kickoffs for the 2000 season is also a record.[3] He finished second in the 2000 rookie of the year balloting.[citation needed]

## College career

Derricks attended [Mississippi State University](/source/Mississippi_State_University) from 1995 to 1999 and was a four-year [letterman](/source/Letterman_(sports)) in [football](/source/College_football). His last college game was in the [1999 Cotton Bowl](/source/1999_Cotton_Bowl_Classic) against the [University of Texas Longhorns](/source/Texas_Longhorns_football) and the [Heisman](/source/Heisman_Trophy) winning running back, [Ricky Williams](/source/Ricky_Williams).[4]
