He is best known for his work as lead writer on *[Borderlands 2](/source/Borderlands_2)*, his role as the [Dungeon Master](/source/Dungeon_Master) in the actual-play comedy podcast *[Dungeons & Daddies](/source/Dungeons_%26_Daddies)*, and his role in *[Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin'?](/source/Hey_Ash,_Whatcha_Playin'%3F)* alongside his sister, [Ashly Burch](/source/Ashly_Burch). In 2015, Burch was listed as one of [Forbes 30 Under 30](/source/Forbes_30_Under_30) in games and apps.[1] ## Career ### *Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin'?* Main article: [Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin'?](/source/Hey_Ash,_Whatcha_Playin'%3F) Burch initially wanted to make a documentary about video games. He bought a camera and he and his sister began making comedic sketches. This gained popularity, leading to the *Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin'?* web series.[2] He and his sister wrote and starred the series together.[3] ### *Borderlands* Main articles: [Borderlands 2](/source/Borderlands_2) and [Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel](/source/Borderlands:_The_Pre-Sequel) In order to address feedback from the first installment in the franchise, [Gearbox Software](/source/Gearbox_Software) recruited Burch as the lead writer for the story of the game and its [downloadable content](/source/Downloadable_content).[4][5] The game was nominated for writing awards including Best DLC at the [Spike Video Game Awards 2012](/source/Spike_Video_Game_Awards), Best Writing in a Comedy at [NAVGTR](/source/NAVGTR_Awards),[6] and Outstanding Achievement in Character at the [16th Annual D.I.C.E.
