# Anolis caceresae

***Anolis caceresae***, **Berta's anole**, is a [species](/source/Species) of lizard in the [family](/source/Family_(taxonomy)) [Dactyloidae](/source/Dactyloidae). The species is found in [Honduras](/source/Honduras).[1] It was named to recognize the indigenous environmental activist [Berta Cáceres](/source/Berta_C%C3%A1ceres), who was assassinated in March 2016 over her protests against a proposed Agua Zarca dam on the [Gualcarque River](/source/Gualcarque_River).[2]
