# Annette Lapointe

**Annette Lapointe** is a Canadian writer whose [debut novel](/source/Debut_novel), *Stolen,* was a longlisted nominee for the [Scotiabank Giller Prize](/source/Scotiabank_Giller_Prize) in 2006. Born in 1978 in [Saskatoon](/source/Saskatoon), [Saskatchewan](/source/Saskatchewan), she was educated at the [University of Saskatchewan](/source/University_of_Saskatchewan), [Memorial University of Newfoundland](/source/Memorial_University_of_Newfoundland) and the [University of Manitoba](/source/University_of_Manitoba).[1]

*Stolen* also received two honors from the Saskatchewan Book Awards: Best First Novel and the Saskatoon Book Award,[2] and was nominated for the [Books in Canada First Novel Award](/source/Books_in_Canada_First_Novel_Award).[3] Lapointe was also named Emerging Writer of 2007 by the [Canadian Authors Association](/source/Canadian_Authors_Association).[4]

Her second novel, *Whitetail Shooting Gallery*, was published in 2013.
