# Anne Gallet

**Anne Gallet** is a Swiss [harpsichordist](/source/Harpsichordist) and [musicologist](/source/Musicologist).

Gallet was born in Geneva. At the age of 20 she won the first prize for virtuosity at the [Conservatoire de Genève](/source/Conservatoire_de_Gen%C3%A8ve) in the class of [Isabelle Nef](/source/Isabelle_Nef). Subsequently, she studied at the [Wiener Musikakademie (Vienna)](/source/University_of_Music_and_Performing_Arts,_Vienna), and further, under [Gustav Leonhardt](/source/Gustav_Leonhardt). A [laureate](/source/Laureate) of the *International Competition [Musica Antiqua Bruges](/source/Musica_Antiqua_Bruges)* in 1965, she went on to play at European and American festivals, [solo](/source/Solo_(music)), and accompanying [Jordi Savall](/source/Jordi_Savall), [Hopkinson Smith](/source/Hopkinson_Smith), [Sigiswald Kuijken](/source/Sigiswald_Kuijken), and [Philippe Huttenlocher](/source/Philippe_Huttenlocher). She obtained a master's degree in [musicology](/source/Musicology) at [Washington University in St. Louis](/source/Washington_University_in_St._Louis), where she also taught harpsichord for two years.

In reviewing the 2000 recording *The Baroque Harpsichord* to which Gallet contributed, *[Gramophone](/source/Gramophone_(magazine))* magazine praised "the delicacy of her touch".[1]

As of 2000, she is a teacher at the Conservatoire de Genève and the Centre de Musique Ancienne Geneve.[2]
