She is known for her roles in the television series *[Mouth to Mouth](/source/Mouth_to_Mouth_(TV_series))* (2009), *[Doctors](/source/Doctors_(2000_TV_series))* (2013) and in the British soap opera *[Emmerdale](/source/Emmerdale)* (2019–2021). ## Life and career Nightingale trained at the [BRIT School](/source/BRIT_School) in London, alongside classmates [Adele](/source/Adele), [Amy Winehouse](/source/Amy_Winehouse) and [Jessie J](/source/Jessie_J).[1] She made her film debut in the 2007 short film *Alice in the City*, with her television debut airing in 2009 in an episode of *[Ashes to Ashes](/source/Ashes_to_Ashes_(British_TV_series))*.[1] She then appeared in various television series including *[Casualty](/source/Casualty_(TV_series))*, *[Doctors](/source/Doctors_(2000_TV_series))* and *[My Mad Fat Diary](/source/My_Mad_Fat_Diary)*.[2] In 2019, it was announced that she had been cast in the [ITV](/source/ITV_(TV_channel)) soap opera *[Emmerdale](/source/Emmerdale)* as series regular [Andrea Tate](/source/Andrea_Tate). She left the series on 21 October 2021 after she was killed off.[3] In 2020, Nightingale joined the supergroup known as [the Celebs](/source/The_Celebs) to raise money for both [Alzheimer's Society](/source/Alzheimer's_Society) and [Action for Children](/source/Action_for_Children). They recorded a new rendition of "[Merry Christmas Everyone](/source/Merry_Christmas_Everyone)" by [Shakin' Stevens](/source/Shakin'_Stevens) and it was released digitally on 11 December 2020, on independent record label [Saga Entertainment](/source/Saga_Entertainment). The music video debuted on *[Good Morning Britain](/source/Good_Morning_Britain_(2014_TV_programme))* the day before release.
