# Anicka van Emden

**Anicka van Emden** (born 10 December 1986) is a Dutch retired [judoka](/source/Judoka) who won a bronze medal at the [2016 Summer Olympics](/source/Judo_at_the_2016_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_63_kg) in Rio de Janeiro (shared with [Yarden Gerbi](/source/Yarden_Gerbi)).[3] She also won bronze medals at the [2011](/source/2011_World_Judo_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_63_kg) and [2013 World Judo Championships](/source/2013_World_Judo_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women's_63_kg).[2]

Since 2007, van Emden works 16 hours a week as a radio diagnostic technician at the Haaglanden Medical Centre in [The Hague](/source/The_Hague).[2]
