'''Anguita''' is a municipality in the [province of Guadalajara](/source/Guadalajara_(province)), [Castile-La Mancha](/source/Castile-La_Mancha), Spain, with a population of 203 in 2009.

==Geography==

Anguita is located in the [Sistema Ibérico](/source/Sistema_Ib%C3%A9rico) below [Sierra Ministra](/source/Sierra_Ministra). River [Tajuña](/source/Taju%C3%B1a) and its tributaries, [La Madre](/source/La_Madre_River) and [Prado Creek](/source/Prado_Creek) flow through the area.

The municipality includes the towns of [Aguilar de Anguita](/source/Aguilar_de_Anguita), Anguita, [Padilla del Ducado](/source/Padilla_del_Ducado), [Santa María del Espino](/source/Santa_Mar%C3%ADa_del_Espino) and  [Villarejo de Medina](/source/Villarejo_de_Medina).

There is an important population of [Dupont's lark](/source/Dupont's_lark) (''Chersophilus duponti'') in the surrounding area.

==History==
Anguita's area has been populated since ancient times. Anguita has remains of a Roman camp, although it is possible that it has been a [Celtiberian](/source/Celtiberians) city before.

During the [al-Andalus](/source/al-Andalus) period, Anguita was located on the frontier with the northern Christian-held territory.

In 1813 the first [Diputation](/source/Diputation) of Spain was signed here.
