# Angry Arts Week

**Angry Arts Week** was an event organised by a group of radical artists based in [Lower East Side](/source/Lower_East_Side), [New York City](/source/New_York_City) in January 1967. It brought together such people as Michael Brown of the [Pageant Players](/source/Pageant_Players), [Peter Schumann](/source/Peter_Schumann) from the [Bread and Puppet Theatre](/source/Bread_and_Puppet_Theatre) Osha Neumann, performance artist [Carolee Schneemann](/source/Carolee_Schneemann), and the painter Ben Morea. They were particularly active opposing the [Vietnam War](/source/Vietnam_War).[1]
