# Andy Strouse

**Andy Strouse** (born 22 June 1970) is a former U.S. [soccer](/source/Soccer) [forward](/source/Striker_(association_football)) who earned three [caps](/source/Cap_(sports)) with the [United States](/source/United_States_men's_national_soccer_team) in 1992.

## Youth

In 1989, Strouse graduated from [Edison High School](/source/Edison_High_School,_Huntington_Beach). He is a member of the Edison Hall of Fame.[1] He played club soccer with the North Huntington Beach Untouchables. He attended [Orange Coast College](/source/Orange_Coast_College), playing on the men's soccer team in 1989 and 1990.[2] In 1989, OCC won the California Junior College Soccer Championship.[3] He then transferred to [Southern Methodist University](/source/Southern_Methodist_University), playing on the men's soccer team in 1991 and 1992.[4]

## Professional

In 1994, Strouse played for the [Anaheim Splash](/source/Anaheim_Splash) in the [Continental Indoor Soccer League](/source/Continental_Indoor_Soccer_League) In 1995, he was with the [Los Angeles Salsa U-23](/source/Los_Angeles_Salsa_U-23) in the [USISL](/source/USISL).[5] In 1996, he was back with the [Anaheim Splash](/source/Anaheim_Splash).[6]

## National team

Strouse played his first game with the national team in a February 12, 1992, scoreless tie with [Costa Rica](/source/Costa_Rica_national_football_team). His next game was six days later in a 2–0 loss to [El Salvador](/source/El_Salvador_national_football_team). His last game was a 5–0 win over [China](/source/China_national_football_team) on April 4, 1992. He came on for [Eric Wynalda](/source/Eric_Wynalda) in the 82nd minute.[7]

He coached the [Edison High School](/source/Edison_High_School,_Huntington_Beach) boys soccer team from at least 1994 to 1999.
