**Andy Kumar**, previously known as **VJ Andy**, is a British [television](/source/Television) personality based in India. He worked as [Video Jockey](/source/VJ_(media_personality)) for [Channel V](/source/Channel_V) and has hosted several [television programs](/source/Television_program)[1] including *Dare 2 Date*[2] a dating reality show. He was a contestant in the [seventh](/source/Bigg_Boss_(Hindi_season_7)) season of [Bigg Boss](/source/Bigg_Boss),[3] finishing fifth.

## Early life

Kumar was born Anand Vijay Kumar[4][5] to an [Indian](/source/British_India) [Punjabi](/source/British_Punjabi) Hindu family in [Slough, Berkshire](/source/Slough,_Berkshire), United Kingdom. He lives and works in [Mumbai, India](/source/Mumbai,_India).[6]

## Career

Kumar hosted *[Beauty and the Geek](/source/Beauty_and_the_Geek)* and *What's With Indian Women* on [Fox Traveller](/source/Fox_Traveller) India with comedian Sanjay Rajoura.[7] In September 2013, he was a contestant on the Indian reality TV show *[Bigg Boss 7](/source/Bigg_Boss_(Hindi_season_7))*. In 2014 he was seen as a contestant on *[Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7](/source/Jhalak_Dikhhla_Jaa_(season_7))*. In October 2015, Andy was seen in the reality show *[I Can Do That](/source/I_Can_Do_That_(Indian_TV_series))*.

## Personal life

Kumar has been reported in his country to be a member of the LGBT community.[8]
