# Andrew Trim

**Andrew Trim** (born 30 December 1968 in [Sydney](/source/Sydney), [New South Wales](/source/New_South_Wales)) is an Australian [flatwater canoeist](/source/Canoe_racing) who competed from the early 1990s to the early 2000s (decade). Competing in three [Summer Olympics](/source/Summer_Olympics), he won two medals in the K-2 500 m event with a silver in [2000](/source/2000_Summer_Olympics) and a bronze in [1996](/source/1996_Summer_Olympics), with canoeing partner [Daniel Collins](/source/Daniel_Collins_(canoeist)).

Trim and Collins also won two medals in the K-2 500 m event at the [ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships](/source/ICF_Canoe_Sprint_World_Championships) with a gold in [1997](/source/1997_ICF_Canoe_Sprint_World_Championships) and a bronze in [1999](/source/1999_ICF_Canoe_Sprint_World_Championships). He was an [Australian Institute of Sport](/source/Australian_Institute_of_Sport) scholarship for the periods 1989–1990, 1992 and 1995–1996.[1]

He entered into [real estate](/source/Real_estate), serving as principal of Johnson Real Estate in [Birkdale](/source/Birkdale,_Queensland). Trim later became a member of the [Liberal National Party](/source/Liberal_National_Party_of_Queensland) and candidate in the 2006 Queensland State Election[2] for the state seat of [Cleveland](/source/Electoral_district_of_Cleveland). Trim lost to the new Labor Party candidate, [Phil Weightman](/source/Phil_Weightman).
