**Andrei-Ionuț Ursu** (anˈdrej joˈnuts ˈursu; born 16 January 1993), previously known as **Wrs** (urs; stylized in [all lowercase](/source/All_lowercase)), is a Romanian singer-songwriter and dancer. He [represented Romania](/source/Romania_in_the_Eurovision_Song_Contest_2022) at the [Eurovision Song Contest 2022](/source/Eurovision_Song_Contest_2022) with the song "[Llámame](/source/Ll%C3%A1mame_(Wrs_song))", placing 18th in the final.

## Life and career

Andrei-Ionuț Ursu was born in [Buzău](/source/Buz%C4%83u) on 16 January 1993. He started dancing at the age of 12, encouraged by his parents who were [folk music](/source/Romanian_folk_music) dancers.[1] Ursu worked as a dancer for artists such as [Inna](/source/Inna), [Antonia](/source/Antonia_Iacobescu) or [Carla's Dreams](/source/Carla's_Dreams) and was part of the [Pro TV](/source/Pro_TV) ballet crew on shows such as *[Vocea României](/source/Vocea_Rom%C3%A2niei)* and *[Românii au talent](/source/Rom%C3%A2nii_au_talent)*.[2]

In 2015, he started his musical career in the boyband Shot.[3] After two years, he left the project, moved to London and began composing music.[3]

In January 2020, Ursu signed with [Global Records](/source/Global_Records) and started his [electro-pop](/source/Electropop) solo project under the stage name Wrs.[3] That same month, he released his debut single "Why".[2] In February 2022, he released the single "[Llámame](/source/Ll%C3%A1mame_(WRS_song))", with which he was selected to [represent Romania](/source/Romania_in_the_Eurovision_Song_Contest_2022) at the [Eurovision Song Contest 2022](/source/Eurovision_Song_Contest_2022).[3][4][5]

On 12 May 2023, Ursu released his first studio album, titled *FIESTA '23*.[6] On 10 October 2023, he announced his intention to drop his stage name.[7]

## Personal life

In a May 2023 interview with *[El País](/source/El_Pa%C3%ADs)*, Ursu revealed that he [does not label his sexuality](/source/Unlabeled_sexuality).[8] He is in a relationship with a man named Vlad Condurache.[9]
