He played [college basketball](/source/College_basketball) for the [Ohio State](/source/Ohio_State_Buckeyes_men's_basketball) of the [Big Ten Conference](/source/Big_Ten_Conference). ## Early life Wesson was raised in [Westerville, Ohio](/source/Westerville,_Ohio) and went to high school at the nearby [Westerville South High School](/source/Westerville_South_High_School).[1] ### Recruiting Wesson committed to [Ohio State](/source/Ohio_State_Buckeyes_men's_basketball) under head coach [Thad Matta](/source/Thad_Matta) on April 13, 2016.[2] After Matta was fired by Ohio State, Wesson stayed committed to Ohio State and new coach [Chris Holtmann](/source/Chris_Holtmann) over offers from [Butler](/source/Butler_Bulldogs_men's_basketball) (Holtmann's previous team), [Xavier](/source/Xavier_Musketeers_men's_basketball), and [Akron](/source/Akron_Zips_men's_basketball).[3][4] ## College career Wesson played in 29 games and averaged 2.3 points and 11.1 minutes per game.[5] He had his season–high points record against [Purdue](/source/2017%E2%80%9318_Purdue_Boilermakers_men's_basketball_team), scoring 13 points.
