# Andre Mintze

**Andre Mintze** (born September 10, 1998) is an American former [football](/source/American_football) [linebacker](/source/Linebacker). He played [college football](/source/College_football) for the [Vanderbilt Commodores](/source/Vanderbilt_Commodores_football).

## College career

Mintze was a member of the [Vanderbilt Commodores](/source/Vanderbilt_Commodores_football) for five seasons, [redshirting](/source/Redshirt_(college_sports)) his true freshman season. He finished his collegiate career with 75 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks with three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in 43 games played.[1]

## Professional career

### Denver Broncos

Mintze signed with the [Denver Broncos](/source/Denver_Broncos) as an [undrafted free agent](/source/Undrafted_free_agent) on May 1, 2021, shortly after the conclusion of the [2021 NFL draft](/source/2021_NFL_draft).[2] He made the Broncos' 53-man roster out of training camp.[3] He was placed on injured reserve on October 19, 2021, with a hamstring injury.[4] He was activated on January 1, 2022. He was waived on May 12, 2022.

### Minnesota Vikings

Mintze signed with the [Minnesota Vikings](/source/Minnesota_Vikings) on June 13, 2022.[5] He was released on August 16, 2022.[6]

### DC Defenders

On November 17, 2022, Mintze was drafted by the [DC Defenders](/source/DC_Defenders) of the [XFL](/source/XFL_(2020)).[7] He re-signed with the team on February 8, 2024,[8] and again on October 16, 2024.[9]
