It is the slowest train between [New Delhi](/source/New_Delhi) and [Chennai](/source/Chennai).
==History==
The train is named after the [Andaman Islands](/source/Andaman_and_Nicobar_Islands) of the country situated off the Eastern coast.
It has been extended to {{stnlnk|Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra}} of [Jammu and Kashmir](/source/Jammu_and_Kashmir_(union_territory)) on 3 September 2015.
