The **Ancre** (French pronunciation: [\[ɑ̃kʁ\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/French) [ⓘ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:LL-Q150_(fra)-Aemines6-ancre.wav); [Picard](/source/Picard_language): *Inke*) is a river of [Picardy](/source/Picardy), [France](/source/France). Rising at [Miraumont](/source/Miraumont), a hamlet near the town of [Albert](/source/Albert%2C_Somme), it flows into the [Somme](/source/Somme_(river)) at [Corbie](/source/Corbie). It is 37.4 km (23.2 mi) long.[1] For most of its length it flows through the [department](/source/Departments_of_France) of [Somme](/source/Somme_(department)). For a short stretch near [Puisieux](/source/Puisieux%2C_Pas-de-Calais), it forms the border with [Pas-de-Calais](/source/Pas-de-Calais).
