Originally placed with the [sac spider](/source/sac_spider)s, it was moved to the comb-footed spiders in 1967.<ref name=Reis1967>{{cite journal| last=Reiskind| first=J.| last2=Levi| first2=H. Previously considered as a genus with a single species, two new species were identified in tropical Australia in 2017.
