**Anaocha** listen is a [Local Government Area](/source/Local_Government_Areas_in_Nigeria) in [Anambra](/source/Anambra) State, south-eastern [Nigeria](/source/Nigeria). Towns that make up the local government are [Aguluzigbo](/source/Aguluzigbo), [Agulu](/source/Agulu), [Neni](/source/Neni,_Anambra), Ichida, Adazi-Ani, Adazi-Enu, Adazi-Nnukwu, Akwaeze, [Nri](/source/Kingdom_of_Nri), Obeledu, with its headquarters at Neni.[1] Anaocha falls under the [Anambra South senatorial district](/source/Anambra_South_senatorial_district) in Anambra state.[2] As at the 2006 census, this LGA has a total population of 284,215 people.[3]

## Economy

The [agricultural](/source/Agriculture) industry of Anaocha LGA is thriving, with significant amounts of crops including [cocoyam](/source/Cocoyam), [yam](/source/Yam_(vegetable)), and [cassava](/source/Cassava) being farmed there. Another significant [economic](/source/Economic) activity in the Anaocha LGA is the processing of wood. The locals also participate in [fishing](/source/Fishing) and [commerce](/source/Commerce), and well-known markets like the Eke market in Adazi-Ani, Afor market in [Agulu](/source/Agulu) and the Nkwor market in Adazi-Enu help to support the local government area's economy.[4]
