'''Ananius''' ({{langx|el|Ἀνάνιος}}) was a Greek [iamb](/source/Iambus_(genre))ic poet, contemporary with [Hipponax](/source/Hipponax) (about 540 BCE). The invention of the satyric iambic verse called [Scazon](/source/Scazon) is ascribed to him as well as to Hipponax.<ref>Hephaest. p. 30, 11, Gaisf.</ref> Some fragments of Ananius are preserved by [Athenaeus](/source/Athenaeus),<ref>[Athenaeus](/source/Athenaeus) pp. 78, 282, 370</ref> and all that is known of him was collected by [Friedrich Gottlieb Welcker](/source/Friedrich_Gottlieb_Welcker) in the 19th century.<ref>Hipponactis et Ananii Iambographorum Fragmenta, p. 109, &c.</ref>
