**Amir Wilson** (born 6 February 2004) is an English actor. On television, he is known for his roles as [Will Parry](/source/Will_Parry_(His_Dark_Materials)) in the [HBO](/source/HBO) and [BBC One](/source/BBC_One) series *[His Dark Materials](/source/His_Dark_Materials_(TV_series))* (2019–2022) and Tiuri in the [Netflix](/source/Netflix) series *[The Letter for the King](/source/The_Letter_for_the_King_(TV_series))* (2020). He starred in the 2020 film adaptation of *[The Secret Garden](/source/The_Secret_Garden_(2020_film))*.

## Early and personal life

Wilson was born in [Shrewsbury](/source/Shrewsbury), [Shropshire](/source/Shropshire) to English father, Paul, and Sudanese mother, Nagla.[1] He has an older sister, Iman.[2] He grew up in the suburb of [Monkmoor](/source/Monkmoor), attending St. Giles' C of E Primary School.[3] Wilson began acting and training with local theatre group Get Your Wigle On.[4]

His father died in May 2018.[3][5]
