**Amaliënstein** is a former mission station of the [Berlin Missionary Society](/source/Berlin_Missionary_Society), 22 km east of [Ladismith](/source/Ladismith), on the road to [Calitzdorp](/source/Calitzdorp). Named after Amalie von Stein, benefactress of German missions.[1] The church complex was completed in 1853.[2]
