At international level, he represented [Cameroon](/source/Cameroon_national_football_team) at the [1994](/source/1994_FIFA_World_Cup) and [1998 FIFA World Cups](/source/1998_FIFA_World_Cup). ## Club career Born in Kekem, Tchami began his career in Cameroon with [Unisport Bafang](/source/Unisport_FC_de_Bafang) before moving to Danish club [Vejle BK](/source/Vejle_Boldklub). In his short spell at Vejle he scored 8 goals in 15 games, but was unable to prevent the club being relegated. Tchami's spell at Vejle led to interest from other Danish clubs and Tchami eventually moved to [Odense BK](/source/Odense_Boldklub) (OB). Tchami was a part of the OB team that defeated [Real Madrid](/source/Real_Madrid) in the [1994–95 UEFA Cup](/source/1994%E2%80%9395_UEFA_Cup) third round by 4–3 on aggregate, earning a place in the quarter-finals. Tchami joined Argentinian club [Boca Juniors](/source/Boca_Juniors) shortly after the [1994 FIFA World Cup](/source/1994_FIFA_World_Cup). In total Tchami played 50 games and scored 11 goals for Boca. After three years he returned to Europe with German side [Hertha BSC](/source/Hertha_BSC). Tchami spent two season with Hertha before a spell in the United Arab Emirates with [Al-Wasl](/source/Al-Wasl_F.C.). Tchami was on trial with [Bolton Wanderers](/source/Bolton_Wanderers_F.C.) in July 2000[1] following his release, playing in friendly matches on Bolton's tour of Denmark,[2][3] before signing for [Dundee United](/source/Dundee_United_F.C.) in August.[4] Tchami spent four months at the Scottish club, leaving in December[5] after playing in four matches and failing to score. [Nice](/source/OGC_Nice) was Tchami's next club, where he signed a short-term contract until the end of the season.[6] In August 2001, Tchami left France - putting what was termed a "bad spell" behind him[7] - and moved to Russian club [Chernomorets](/source/FC_Chernomorets_Novorossiysk),[8] before moving again, this time to [Shenyang Ginde](/source/Guangzhou_R%26F_F.C.) in China. He signed for Lebanese club [Nejmeh](/source/Nejmeh_SC) in September 2003 but left after less than three weeks,[9] ending his career back in France with amateur side [Épernay](/source/RC_%C3%89pernay_Champagne). His club career spanned twelve clubs in ten countries over four continents. ## International career Tchami played in 57 matches for [Cameroon](/source/Cameroon_national_football_team) and was a participant at the [1994](/source/1994_FIFA_World_Cup) and [1998 FIFA World Cups](/source/1998_FIFA_World_Cup), in addition to the [1996 African Cup of Nations](/source/1996_African_Cup_of_Nations). ## Personal life Tchami holds Cameroonian and French nationalities.[10] He is from a family of footballers. His three younger brothers also played professionally: [Bertrand](/source/Bertrand_Tchami), former [Grenoble Foot 38](/source/Grenoble_Foot_38) and [Stade de Reims](/source/Stade_de_Reims) player, [Joël](/source/Jo%C3%ABl_Tchami), and [Hervé](/source/Herv%C3%A9_Tchami).[11] ## References 1.
