Knox** is an American politician and businessman serving as a member of the [Louisiana House of Representatives](/source/Louisiana_House_of_Representatives) for the 93rd district. He assumed office on March 25, 2023. ## Early life and education Knox was born in [Baton Rouge, Louisiana](/source/Baton_Rouge%2C_Louisiana), and graduated from [Glen Oaks High School](/source/Glen_Oaks_High_School). He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and law enforcement from [Southern University](/source/Southern_University) and a Master of Business Administration from [Trinity Washington University](/source/Trinity_Washington_University).[1] ## Career Knox served in the [United States Marine Corps](/source/United_States_Marine_Corps) from 1989 to 2006 and became a sergeant. After leaving the Marines, Knox worked as a readjustment analyst for the [United States Department of Veterans Affairs](/source/United_States_Department_of_Veterans_Affairs).[2] Knox also founded the Backatown Coffee Parlour on [Basin Street](/source/Basin_Street) in [New Orleans](/source/New_Orleans).[3] In 2021, Knox was an unsuccessful candidate for a seat on the [New Orleans City Council](/source/New_Orleans_City_Council).
