He scored 13 tries during the 2013 [Shute Shield](/source/Shute_Shield) season, this brought him to the attention of the {{Rut|Waratahs}} who named him in their wider training group for the [2014 Super Rugby season](/source/2014_Super_Rugby_season). Internationally, Alofa was eligible to play for [New Zealand](/source/New_Zealand_national_rugby_union_team) due to it being the country of his birth.
