==Recent history==
In 1927, a factory for processing [sugar beet](/source/sugar_beet)[{{cite book|last1=Trinder|first1=Barrie|title=Ahistory of Shropshire|date=1983|publisher=Phillimore|location=Chichester|isbn=9780850334753|page=132}}] (which came to be owned by [British Sugar](/source/British_Sugar)), was built near to the village and became a major local employer. ==Sport==
[Allscott Heath F.C.](/source/Allscott_Heath_F.C.) is the village's [association football](/source/association_football) club based at the Allscott Sports & Social Club. The club currently compete in the {{English football updater|AllscotH}}. The 2022–23 season saw the club win the [West Midlands (Regional) League](/source/West_Midlands_(Regional)_League) Division One title. They have also finished runners-up in the [Mercian Regional League](/source/Mercian_Regional_League) Premier Division (2015-16 season) and won the [Shropshire County](/source/Shropshire_Football_Association) Challenge Cup on one occasion (2014–15), as well as the [Shropshire County Football League](/source/Shropshire_County_Football_League) Division One league title (2011–12).
Allscott Cricket Club play in Division 1 of the [Shropshire County Cricket League](/source/Shropshire_County_Cricket_League) after being relegated from the Premier Division in 2014.
==Namesake==
There is another [hamlet](/source/hamlet_(place)) in Shropshire also called Allscott, but to the northeast of [Bridgnorth](/source/Bridgnorth) and in the parish of [Worfield](/source/Worfield) in south-east of the county.({{gbmapping|SO737962|SO737962}}).
