**Allman Bay** is an arm of [Nares Strait](/source/Nares_Strait), in the [Qikiqtaaluk Region](/source/Qikiqtaaluk_Region) of [Nunavut](/source/Nunavut), Canada. It is located in eastern [Ellesmere Island](/source/Ellesmere_Island), southwest of the southern edge of the [Darling Peninsula](/source/Darling_Peninsula). [Dobbin Bay](/source/Dobbin_Bay) is 28 km (17 mi)[2] to the northeast. [Cape Prescott](/source/Cape_Prescott) is the headland to the west of the entrance.

## Exploration

Admiral Sir [George Nares](/source/George_Nares) explored the bay during his voyage of 1875–1876.[3]

During the period of August 18, 1898, through August 2, 1899, American explorer [Robert Peary](/source/Robert_Peary)'s ship was ice-bound in Allman Bay.[4]
