# Allison Bay

**Allison Bay** ([67°30′S 61°17′E](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=67_30_S_61_17_E)), also known as **Isvika**, is a small [bay](/source/Bay) immediately west of the [Utstikkar Glacier](/source/Utstikkar_Glacier) and about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) east of the [Lachal Bluffs](/source/Lachal_Bluffs) and [Ufs Island](/source/Ufs_Island), on the [Mawson Coast](/source/Mawson_Coast) of [Mac. Robertson Land](/source/Mac._Robertson_Land) in [Antarctica](/source/Antarctica). It was mapped by [Norwegian](/source/Norway) cartographers from air photos taken by the [Lars Christensen Expedition](/source/Lars_Christensen_Expedition), 1936–37, and named *Isvika* (the ice bay); it was renamed by the [Antarctic Names Committee of Australia](/source/Antarctic_Names_Committee_of_Australia) for Dr. Robert Allison, medical officer at [Mawson Station](/source/Mawson_Station) in 1955.
