# Allensmore

**Allensmore** is a village in [Herefordshire](/source/Herefordshire), England. It is located on the [A465 road](/source/A465_road) about 4 miles (6 km) south-west of [Hereford](/source/Hereford). The church is dedicated to [Saint Andrew](/source/Saint_Andrew).[1]

## History

The name 'Allensmore' derives from 'Alan's Moor'.[2] It has been suggested that Allensmore is the place referred to as *More* in the [Domesday Book](/source/Domesday_Book).[3] Cricketer [Charles Littlehales](/source/Charles_Littlehales) was the parish Vicar from 1930 to at least 1941.[4]
