Ali played all six group-stage matches for Al Ittihad in the [2023–24 AFC Cup](/source/2023%E2%80%9324_AFC_Cup).[1] #### Loan to Lion City Sailors It was announced on 10 February 2025 that Ali would join [Singapore Premier League](/source/Singapore_Premier_League) club [Lion City Sailors](/source/Lion_City_Sailors) until the end of the [2024–25](/source/2024%E2%80%9325_Singapore_Premier_League) season becoming the first Syrian to play in the league.[1][2] Ali made his debut for the club in the [AFC Champions League Two](/source/AFC_Champions_League_Two) match against [Muangthong United](/source/Muangthong_United_F.C.), after coming on to replace [Bart Ramselaar](/source/Bart_Ramselaar).[3] On 16 February 2025, Ali made his first start for the Sailors in a 4–1 win against [Tanjong Pagar United](/source/Tanjong_Pagar_United_FC) in the [2024–25 Singapore Cup](/source/2024%E2%80%9325_Singapore_Cup).[4] He make his league debut in a 1–1 draw against [Hougang United](/source/Hougang_United_FC) on 9 March. Despite [Maxime Lestienne](/source/Maxime_Lestienne)'s equaliser in the 91st minute of the [2025 AFC Champions League Two final](/source/2025_AFC_Champions_League_Two_final) against [Sharjah](/source/Sharjah_FC), Ali finished as a runner-up after a 1–2 defeat.[5] ## International career Ali has featured for the various age groups for Syria. In September 2022, Ali was called up to the [Syria U20](/source/Syria_national_under-20_football_team) squad for the [2023 AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualification](/source/2023_AFC_U-20_Asian_Cup_qualification) where he played in four of the group stage matches. Ali was then called up to [Syria U23](/source/Syria_national_under-23_football_team) squad for the [WAFF U-23 Championship](/source/WAFF_U-23_Championship) where he played against [Palestine U23](/source/Palestine_national_under-23_football_team).
