# Alfred Hartmann

**Alfred Hartmann** is a Swiss former [footballer](/source/Football_(soccer)) who played in the 1950s, mainly as a [forward](/source/Forward_(association_football)) but also as a [midfielder](/source/Midfielder).

Hartmann joined [FC Basel](/source/FC_Basel)'s first team for their [1953–54 season](/source/1953%E2%80%9354_FC_Basel_season) under [player-coach](/source/Player-coach) [René Bader](/source/Ren%C3%A9_Bader). He made his domestic league debut for the club in the home game at the [Landhof](/source/Landhof) on 13 September 1953 as Basel lost 1–3 against [Chiasso](/source/FC_Chiasso).[1]

Between 1953 and 1955, Hartmann played five games for Basel without scoring. Three were in the [Nationalliga A](/source/Swiss_Super_League), one in the [Swiss Cup](/source/Swiss_Cup) and the other was a friendly game.[2]
