# Alfred Firth

**Alfred Firth** (3 September 1847 – 16 January 1927) was an English [first-class cricketer](/source/First-class_cricket), who played one match for [Yorkshire County Cricket Club](/source/Yorkshire_County_Cricket_Club) in 1869.[1]

Born in [Dewsbury](/source/Dewsbury), [Yorkshire](/source/Yorkshire), [England](/source/England), Firth scored four runs in his only innings, against [Surrey](/source/Surrey_County_Cricket_Club) at [The Oval](/source/The_Oval), and he did not bowl in the match.[1] Yorkshire won the game by seven wickets, thanks to hundreds from openers [Joseph Rowbotham](/source/Joseph_Rowbotham) and [Ephraim Lockwood](/source/Ephraim_Lockwood).

He later lived at Bevor House, [Heckmondwike](/source/Heckmondwike).

Firth died in January 1927 in [Wyke](/source/Wyke,_Bradford), [Bradford](/source/Bradford), aged 79.
