# Alexicles

***Alexicles*** is a [monotypic](/source/Monotypic) genus of [tiger moth](/source/Arctiinae_(moth)) genus in the family [Erebidae](/source/Erebidae). Its only species, ***Alexicles aspersa***, the **Alexicles moth**, is found in the US states of [New Mexico](/source/New_Mexico)[1] and [Arizona](/source/Arizona). Both the genus and species were [first described](/source/Species_description) by [Augustus Radcliffe Grote](/source/Augustus_Radcliffe_Grote) in 1883.[2]

The [wingspan](/source/Wingspan) is about 25 mm. Adults are on wing in June and July.[3]
