# Alexandre Mattiussi

French fashion designer (born 1980)

**Alexandre Mattiussi** (born September 15, 1980) is a French fashion designer and entrepreneur who is the founder of [AMI](/source/AMI_Paris), a French luxury [ready-to-wear](/source/Ready-to-wear) menswear brand. He previously designed for [Dior Homme](/source/Dior_Homme), [Givenchy](/source/Givenchy), and [Marc Jacobs](/source/Marc_Jacobs).

## Early career

Mattiussi was born on September 15, 1980. He studied fashion and design at the [École Duperré](/source/%C3%89cole_Duperr%C3%A9) and specialized in men's fashion.[1]

He went on to work for [Christian Dior](/source/Christian_Dior) 's "30 Montaigne" men's line, [Givenchy](/source/Givenchy) as first assistant for men, and [Marc Jacobs](/source/Marc_Jacobs).[1][2]

## AMI Paris

In late 2010, he founded [AMI Paris](/source/AMI_Paris), quickly gaining international success.[3][4] In December 2012, the brand opened its first boutique in Paris. In 2013, he won the [ANDAM](/source/ANDAM) from [Association Nationale pour le Développement des Arts de la Mode](/source/Association_Nationale_pour_le_D%C3%A9veloppement_des_Arts_de_la_Mode) for AMI.[5] In 2016, he became a member of [Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode](/source/F%C3%A9d%C3%A9ration_de_la_Haute_Couture_et_de_la_Mode).

As of 2021, [AMI Paris](/source/AMI_Paris) has six boutiques in Europe (including 3 own boutiques and 3 corners), 1 boutique in the United States in New York, 8 boutiques in China, 6 boutiques in Japan.[6] In 2024, that had grown to more than 60 standalone stores and more than 700 points of sale.[4]

## Other activities

Mattiussi has been reported to have a lifelong passion for cinema.[7] In 2024, he directed the music video for the single "Où tu ne m'attendais pas" by [Isabelle Adjani](/source/Isabelle_Adjani) with [Christophe](/source/Christophe_(singer)) (posthumously).[7]
